Starting on Tuesday July 30th through August 9th (weather permitting) during the hours of 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM the above listed streets are scheduled to receive a roadway paving process known as FB-3 Modified Pavement Resurfacing. The project will be completed in three separate phases. The first phase to be completed consists of milling along curb line and limits of work which will occur on July 30th through August 2nd. The second phase consists of placing a 3/4" inch Leveling Course followed by an Overlay of 1 1/2" inch Depth of FB-3 Modified which will occur on August 5th through August 9th (weather permitting).

The final phase will be the application of a Seal Coat using 1/4" inch aggregate followed by a Fog Seal. These applications will take place at later date and you will be re-notified prior to this occurring. Do not be alarmed as any loose aggregate will be swept within two weeks prior to the final Fog Seal which will provide a black uniform surface.

The road will be closed during the milling and overlay phases. If possible, please refrain from using the road to provide safety for you and our workers. After the paver passes your driveway, you will not be permitted to enter or exit your driveway until the material has been compacted, approximately 1-2 hours, and if you must use the road after it has been compacted; please drive very slowly to avoid damage to the road surface and/or your vehicle. For the first few months the paving material will be tender and to avoid damage please drive with care and DO NOT sit stationary while turning the steering wheel both entering or exiting your driveway.

Your Township Public Works Department and Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, LLC. look forward to providing you with a new road and thank you in advance for your cooperation. Questions? Welcome to Plainfield Township

North Whitehall Township Plainfield Township, is a second class Township located in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, This rural community features beautiful views of the Blue Mountains, a rustic Recreation Trail, natural areas of streams and woodlands, and preserved active farms.

Plainfield Township, which is comprised of a total area of 24.98 square miles, has a rich history of farming dating back to the earliest settlers. As the County of Northampton was defined and established in 1752, it included all of Eastern Pennsylvania both North and Northwest of Bucks County. Jacob Hubler, and Lanart Carne, were appointed by the Court to oversee the Plainfield Township roads in 1755. In December of 1762, Jacob Hubler, was the first of twelve residents to sign a petition to present to the Court of Quarter sessions held in Easton for the County of Northampton. The petitioners' request to conduct a survey to set the boundaries of Plainfield Township and was approved and recorded by the Court on December 24, 1762. The name Plainfield was given to the Township because it was devoid of trees. The Indians had set fire to the area to clear it for driving game through Wind Gap for harvesting.
