2020 Census: Pre-existing and New Protocols
Residents should complete their census questionnaires online or by phone as soon as possible. If residents do not respond by phone or electronically, they will receive a paper questionnaire in a few weeks. Census field operations are temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Questions on the Census can be directed to 1-844-330-2020 and can also be found by going to mycensus2020.gov.

As of April 30, 2020, the 2020 Census has reached an important milestone with more than half of U.S. households (54.6%) responding – that’s more than 79 million responses. Pennsylvania’s overall response rate is even better at 56.2%, although several regions in the state are lagging behind. Y

Plainfield Township is joining with the U.S. Census Bureau to participate in Digital Action Weekend, May 1-3. The goal is to keep the 2020 Census in conversations across all digital channels and social media platforms and urge everyone to complete the census. While the COVID-19 crisis may have delayed field operations and door-to-door canvassing, the census is still going strong.
